“If one dream should fall and break into a thousand pieces… never be afraid to pick one of those pieces up and begin again. That’s the beauty of being alive… We can always start all over again. Enjoy God’s amazing opportunities bestowed on us. Have faith in Him always.” - St. Bernadette of Lourdes
Reflection on Dreams and Opportunities:
Have you ever put so much time and effort into a dream and it didn’t go as planned? Were you heartbroken? Did you lose hope? Dreams can keep our spirit alive, but when they don’t pan out, we can feel dejected. What’s important to remember about our dreams is to keep God in them. We can consult God in all things. We can commiserate with God and let Him know how we feel. We can pray to God and ask Him what He has in store for us next.
The thing about dreams is that you can always start anew. There’s no end. Your imagination can continually create. With God, you can start to see new opportunities, and you can plan new goals. We can feel joyful knowing that we have somewhere to grow, something to do, and something to aspire to achieve.
As St. Bernadette remarks, God has amazing opportunities in store for us. He won’t leave us when a dream doesn’t turn out in our standards. When those situations arise, it just means that God has something better in mind for us. So don’t give up hope. Start praying and planning with God for a new dream or for a new direction. Let’s be hopeful and joyful as we await. Let our souls come alive with creativity, and may we rest knowing that God is right beside us.
Prayer:
Dear God, thank you for putting dreams, ideas, and goals before me. You, in Your Eternal Goodness, know my skill sets, strengths, and desires. You made me for good. I have so many ways that I can honor You in the things that I may achieve and the things I may do. May I
continually consult with You as I discern. I desire to please You above all. Thank you for walking with me on my path toward Heaven. I love You! Amen.
