Hello and Welcome to St. Maria Goretti Catholic School!
Dear SMG Families, My name Joy Jansen and I am the PTO president for the 2025-2026 school year. I am very excited to serve the school community in this position. I look forward to working closely with parents, teachers, and every one else involved in the school to make this year successful. After moving to Carmel in 2016 from Indianapolis, we decided to move our twins to SMG in 2022. Our 2 older kids, Elaine and Charlie both graduated 8 th grade from St. Luke. Elaine is now a senior at Carmel and Charlie is a Junior. The decision to move churches and schools made us a little nervous. However, this was a great decision for our family. Mirabelle and Eliza started 4 th grade and were immediately drawn into the school community. Students, teachers, and parents were so welcoming to all of us. This is one of the main reasons that I decided to join PTO. I wanted to get involved and be part of such a great school. Anyone is welcome to join our PTO meetings. They occur on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 8:00am, after morning drop off. If you are looking to connect with other families, serve as a volunteer at the school, or even have a great idea, we would love to see you at the meetings! My main goal as PTO president is to support the great teachers and admin at SMG so that the students have a great year. I think this year is going to be very special, because the theme is dear to my heart. Our school year theme is Building God’s Kingdom with Joy! I hope that everyone’s school year is filled with Joy. I want to recognize how blessed we are to have found a community and faith home here at SMG. I know this is because we have such committed and faith filled teachers and administrators.
Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] with any questions or suggestions. If I don’t know the answer, I will do my best to find the information. If you are new to the school and would like to get involved, please don’t be nervous! I felt the same way just 3 years ago. On behalf of the PTO board, I would like to thank everyone for helping to make SMG great.
