  • Fall Sports Info 2025
It is our hope that young athletes learn the fundamentals of their sports while maintaining an attitude of good sportsmanship based upon Catholic principles of fair play and cooperation. We strive to foster an environment that promotes each player to be positive role models to the parish and community.
  • SMG Fall Sports

    • CYO Boys Football (3-8)
      • CYO boy’s football has a wide range of benefits including physical, mental, and social growth.  We promote the mentality of a “Brotherhood” within the SMG football family.  This starts with discipline and commitment to one another, to the team, but most importantly to Christ.  We instill confidence and self-esteem by attacking problems and obstacles with teamwork and cooperation.  We ask these boys to exhibit leadership skills while representing the Lord and their parish with respect and sportsmanship.  We believe that football helps shape young men in the key attributes needed to live life in a Christ-like way.

        FISH HOURS OPPORTUNITY
All SMG sports whether they are CYO or In-House are coached by volunteer parents and parishioners.  The Sports Ministry thrives on the amazing volunteers that offer their time to coach and help each of the kids learn not only sports but how to play in a Christ-like way.  Please consider donating your time as a head coach or an assistant. (No Experience Required!) Contact [email protected] for further details.

CYO sports are run by the Catholic Youth Organization Archdiocese of Indianapolis, https://cyoarchindy.org/ .  In order to play a CYO sport, an athlete must attend SMG or be a registered parishioner of SMG.   CYO sports are those played by our older athletes, primarily grades 4-8 with a few beginning in grade 3.  Some sports will have an evaluation for team placement but all athletes will be placed on a team.

In-House sports are run by SMG and often in partnership with other north side parishes such as OLMC, Seton, OLG, SLDM and others. In-House sports are those played by our younger athletes, primarily grades PK-3. Except for Cheer and Tennis.  Anyone in the area of SMG can play an In-House sport.
