Former 5th grade teacher Fr. David Huemmer, OFS, brings his interest in God’s creation and experience with environmental education to this partially outdoor retreat. This retreat begins with Morning Prayer and ends with Adoration, Daytime Prayer and Benediction. In between, Fr. Huemmer will utilize the book “God Made That: Catholic Nature Field Guide,” leading activities surrounding nature and creation. Mass, lunch and time for personal reflection will round out the day. Care for Creation is a foundational Franciscan value celebrated in Pope Leo XIV’s proclaimed Franciscan Jubilee Year—the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi in 1226. This retreat begins with Morning Prayer and ends with Adoration, Daytime Prayer and Benediction. In between, guests will enjoy two conferences. Join the Parish Lenten Program PROJECT SHARE. We recognize our individual abundance and resolve to share that abundance with those less fortunate. All ages can participate, and families are encouraged to work together to each find something to donate. THE PLAN: During Lent set aside items to "share" (donate) to those who utilize our "Shepherd's Gate Food Pantry and the St. Vincent DePaul ministry. They will be invited to attend and select items on Saturday, April 18, 9am-12pm. These items will be offered completely free to them. Then, starting at noon, anyone from the parish or community can come to shop. All remaining items, after 2pm, will be donated to local charities. WHAT’S ACCEPTED: cookware, dishware, flatware, glassware, sheets, comforters, towels, baby items, toys, games, small appliances (such as toasters, hand mixers, coffeemakers), small tables, lamps, chairs. CLOTHING: ONLY if in clean condition with no holes, stains, or damage. Newer shoes. WE CANNOT ACCEPT: undergarments; adult swimsuits; house slippers; DVDs, CDS, cables or extension cords; electronics or personal technology items; large furniture items; sleeping bags; sleeping pillows; and NO adult books of any type. Please keep baby and child items separate from adult items. ALSO: no extra large size clothing. ITEM COLLECTION: Drop off days are Friday, April 17, 3:30-7pm, or Saturday, April 18, 7:30-8:30am. Experience the wonder of silence and scripture on our beautiful campus. This Ignatian-guided silent retreat begins with conferences on prayer. Over the course of the retreat, guests will make holy hours with different scriptures taken from the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. Mass, optional Liturgy of the Hours with catechesis, optional daily spiritual direction, optional reconciliation, and plenty of quiet time to reflect on the scriptures is built into the retreat. This retreat is designed for guests who’ve completed a weekend Silent Retreat either at St. Joseph’s or elsewhere. Led by Fr. Join us in honoring St. Joseph the Worker with a day of volunteering at the St. Joseph Retreat & Conference Center. Following 9 am mass with Fr. David Huemmer, guests may help with indoor or outdoor tasks like picking up sticks, weeding, spreading mulch outdoors. Indoor tasks like light cleaning, organizing and office work is available as well. After lunch, guests will complete a second volunteer session. The day will end with Afternoon Prayer from the Liturgy of the Hours. Volunteers may bring rakes, shovels, gloves and a water bottle. Experience the wonder of silence and scripture on our beautiful campus. This Ignatian-guided silent retreat begins with conferences on prayer. Over the course of the weekend, guests will make seven holy hours with different scriptures taken from the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. Mass, optional Liturgy of the Hours with catechesis, optional spiritual direction, optional reconciliation, and plenty of quiet time for reflection and prayer is built into the weekend. Led by Fr.
