The St. Maria Goretti Multi-Year Campus Renewal
The 2026 SMG Day of Giving marks the launch of a major, multi-year initiative to systematically refurbish and renew every classroom and educational space throughout St. Maria Goretti School. This campaign is a sustained, strategic effort to ensure that our students and teachers benefit from modern, functional and consistent learning environments that fully support the mission of Catholic education at SMG.
Each year, future Days of Giving will build directly upon this foundation until the project is fully funded. Subsequent annual campaigns will fund the next phase of classrooms and learning spaces, continuing steadily until our entire school campus is completely transformed to form our students in knowledge, character, and faith.
The Scope of the Project
Over the course of this campaign, donations will directly fund:
- Modern Teacher Workspaces: New desks and functional layouts to support our educators while building consistency between classrooms.
- Updated Student Furniture: Ergonomic seating and desks that are designed for comfort, functionality and durability.
- Enhanced Group Work-Stations: Flexible furniture setups that foster collaboration, community, and Christian fellowship.
- Modern Whiteboards: New, high-visibility instructional surfaces for dynamic daily lessons (to replace existing chalkboards).
- Instructional Space Improvements: Comprehensive updates to specialized learning areas throughout the school such as resources, speech therapy and the cafeteria.
Campaign Financial Milestones
Required to fully refurbish all educational spaces campus-wide.
Funds Phase 1 of the project: refurbishing 10 classrooms.
If fundraising exceeds the $100,000 launch goal this year, additional funds will accelerate the timeline.
Ways to Support the Campaign on October 2, 2026
Donate Online
Visit our online giving portal at onecau.se/_mq24c1 to make a direct donation or select specific classroom items that contribute to the effort.
Cash or Check via School or Parish Office
Deliver your contribution to the school or parish office on or before October 2nd. Please ensure donations are clearly marked for the “SMG Catholic School Day of Giving.”
Alternative Giving via Parish Office
For advanced giving methods, including Donor Advised Funds (DAF), stock and securities gifts, or IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD), please contact Kevin Muller ([email protected]) in the parish office. Contact your financial advisor to initiate these types of giving.
Corporate Matching
Many companies have matching gift programs to provide incentives for their employees to make charitable donations, especially when donating to an educational institution such as SMG School. Please ask your human resources or personnel department for a matching gift form. The employee must initiate the process. Both current and retired employees may be eligible.
Companies from which we have received contributions include: Eli Lilly, CVS, KSM, Cigna, Salesforce, Strada Education, Morgan Stanley, Katz Sapper Miller & GlaxoSmithKline.
Why This Multi-Year Renewal is Vital to Our Mission
Our classrooms are where our students spend a significant portion of their childhood—learning, forming lifelong friendships, growing in faith, and developing the virtues and character that will shape their future. Every day, our teachers give their time and talents to form our youth into the people God calls them to be.
As education has evolved, so have the needs of our students and teachers. Many of our classrooms were equipped for an earlier generation. Today, teachers rely on interactive tools and technology, while students benefit from spaces designed for greater engagement and collaboration.
This effort is an opportunity to thoughtfully bring our entire campus forward. The goal is to create purposeful learning environments where faith is formed, knowledge is gained, and character is developed. By investing in these spaces over the coming years, we give our dedicated staff the resources they need to do God's work well, while sending a powerful message to our students: what happens here matters, and you matter.
Through a sustained commitment over the coming years, we can transform every educational space at SMG.
