“As soon as we know the will of God, we ought without delay to follow it.” – St. Paul of the Cross
Reflection on Procrastination:
Most of us succumb to procrastination from time to time. It is easy to put off things that we are supposed to do. From social media to hanging out with friends, we have so many things that can easily distract us. We do have to remember to put things in proper order, though. When something is important, we can’t disregard it.
St. Paul of the Cross reminds us that we need to take action when we know God’s will. In prayer, we can discern what God is calling us towards. He could be calling us to make small changes like sitting at lunch with someone who sits alone. He could call us to serve at a soup kitchen during the weekend. God could call us to wake up early and help our elderly neighbor around their house. If we know what He is telling us to do and we disregard Him, we are disobeying the first commandment.
We should love the Lord with all of our heart, mind, and soul. We have to move. We have to take action. We have to make changes when He calls us to.
God should be the most important part of our lives. He deserves all respect. We are so blessed to have Him as our Father. May we, His children, bring about His Kingdom on Earth. May we be people of faith. May we take action when He calls us to do something.
Let’s not procrastinate. Rather, may we joyfully follow His will for our lives.
Prayer:
Dear God, thank you for loving me so unconditionally. I am so blessed in the life that I live. Help me to take more time to discern your will for my life, in the small and big things. I am open to your call. I love You! Amen.
