“Pray, hope, and don't worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer.” -St. Pio of Pietrelcina
Reflection on Worry: How often do you worry about things? Do you have too many things to do and become overwhelmed? When you feel this way, how often do you invite God to be with you? St. Pio encourages us to start with prayer especially during hectic times. The first thing we should do is submit our schedule to God. Allow Him into the busyness. Give Him control. Pray about everything that is on your mind: your skepticism, worries, family and friendship concerns, tests, papers, extracurriculars, job, etc. God sees everything. He is with you every moment. Hope in God. Trust that He will take care of you. As St. Pio mentions, “Worry is useless.” We must not fall into despair. We cannot worry. Instead, trust in God and then take action. Start that paper. Practice your speech. Condition and train for your sport. By accomplishing your tasks, you are moving forward in the right direction. In the midst of it all, God is with you. He never leaves you. Take St. Pio’s words to heart. “Pray, hope, and don’t worry.”
Prayer: Dear God, may I place everything into Your holy hands. May I not give into the temptation of discouragement, fear, and worry. I know that You walk beside me in my path. If I falter, I am blessed to have a merciful Father like You. May I run into Your arms. Help me to trust. Help me to work hard and accomplish my tasks. Help me to love You above all. Amen.
