The Catechism of the Catholic Church tells us that God has assigned every human soul a guardian angel to protect and guide us from the beginning of our lives until our death. The angels sit and look upon the face of God while accompanying us in our day-to-day proving to be valuable aids and intercessors for us. Our guardian angels cannot directly impact us, St. Thomas Aquinas says, but give us feelings and ideas to help guide our path away from sin and toward God. (CCC 334-336)
